Horses can get coughs, colds and viruses, just like humans and they are just as contagious.
Two common reasons for respiratory infection in horses are strangles and Equine Herpes Virus (EHV). Horses with these diseases may have a cough, a temperature, feel unwell or have a runny nose, and in some cases may display no outward signs at all.
The good news is that there are vaccinations available which can prevent these sicknesses.
Equivac is available at your local AIRR member store, who will happily work with you on a prevention and protection program for your horses.
